Enrique T. Salem Chief Operating Officer Enrique Salem serves as chief operating officer, with responsibility for global product development, sales, marketing and IT. Most recently, Salem served as group president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, and managed global sales and partner programs, marketing, communications and branding. Previously, Salem was group president, Consumer Business Unit, with responsibility for the overall consumer business worldwide. In this role, Salem was responsible for engineering, sales, alliances, marketing, public relations and customer care. Prior to that, Salem was Symantec’s senior vice president of Security Products and Solutions, leading Symantec's security product group including both enterprise and consumer. Before that, he led the Network and Gateway Security Solutions group. Before joining Symantec, Salem was president and CEO of Brightmail, the leading anti-spam software that was successfully acquired by Symantec in 2004. Before Brightmail, he served as senior vice president of products and technology at Oblix Inc., where he spearheaded corporate strategy and development by leading the company's engineering, product management, and technology groups. Before Oblix, he was vice president of technology and operations at Ask Jeeves Inc., where he was responsible for the engineering group and the company's entire IT operation. Prior to that, he led the security business unit at Symantec, helping to grow the unit's revenue from $200 million to $460 million over a three year period. Earlier in his career, Salem was a vice president at Security Pacific Merchant Bank, where he led projects for the development of real-time trading systems. Salem received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Dartmouth College. He was named 2007 Corporate Executive of the Year by Hispanic Net as well as 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young.

Mark Bregman Chief Technology Officer Mark Bregman is executive vice president and chief technology officer at Symantec, responsible for the Symantec Research Labs, Symantec Security Response and shared technologies, emerging technologies, architecture and standards, localization and secure coding, and developing the technology strategy for the company. Bregman guides Symantec’s investments in advanced research and is responsible for the company’s development centers in India and China. Additionally, Bregman leads the field technical enablement team, which works closely with the technical sales team to ensure they are prepared to assist customers in managing the impact of changing and emerging technical requirements. Bregman joined Symantec through the company’s merger with Veritas Software, where he served as chief technology officer, responsible for cross-product integration, advanced product development, merger and acquisition strategy, and the company’s engineering development centers in India and China. Prior to joining Veritas, Bregman was CEO of Airmedia, a wireless Internet firm. Previously, Bregman spent 16 years at IBM where he led the RS/6000 and Pervasive Computing divisions and held senior management positions in IBM Research and IBM Japan. He was also technical assistant to IBM CEO Lou Gerstner. Bregman holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard College and a master’s degree and doctorate in physics from Columbia University. He is a member of the Visiting Committee to the Harvard University Libraries, a member of the American Physical Society, and a senior member of IEEE. He also serves on the Board of Directors of ShoreTel and the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium.

Craig Scroggie Vice President, Pacific Region Craig Scroggie is vice president of the Pacific region encompassing Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, responsible for driving Symantec’s sales and business development in the region. Craig serves as senior leader for the overall Symantec business in Pacific. Previously the senior director of business development for Asia Pacific and Japan, Craig was responsible for leading enterprise business development for Symantec’s fastest growing region. He was also the sales director for Veritas Software Australia and New Zealand, responsible for sales, support, strategy, planning, renewals, and operations. Previous roles include national sales manager at Computer Associates, national channels manager for EMC Corporation, sales and marketing manager of the telecommunication and technology group for Fujitsu, national sales manager of Yamaha’s computer and multimedia products division and the IT manager of Allans/Brashs retail chain in Australia. Craig is a graduate and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a fellow of the Australian Sales & Marketing Institute and serves on their National Advisory Committee. He is also a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, and is a non-executive director and board member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA). Craig is a graduate of the University of Southern Queensland and holds post graduate qualifications in Information Technology and Management.

Rob Willis Area Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, Citrix Systems Rob Willis is responsible for the strategic development and direction of Citrix Systems across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). He provides marketing and sales leadership throughout the region, including a focus on partner relationships and channel programs. His responsibilities also include driving growth through new market opportunities, integrating new products into the region and ensuring the company’s development, especially at the enterprise level and in key vertical markets. Rob joined Citrix in December 2005 as the Director of Enterprise Sales, in which he lead the region’s enterprise sales team and was responsible for driving business opportunities in ANZ across the corporate and government sectors. Rob has more than twenty years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to joining Citrix, he was Senior Vice President Optical Services for IP Networks in San Francisco where he lead the sales and marketing team. He has also worked with Nortel Networks as Vice President of Advanced Packet Solutions responsible for driving growth in the America, Europe and Asia markets.

Ronnie Altit General Manager, Data Centre Solutions, Dimension Data Ronnie Altit is General Manager for the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) line of business at Dimension Data, responsible for the financial and strategic direction of the DCS business including: driving new product and service offering development, fostering strong customer relationships, and liaising with Dimension Data's global practice to develop global standards for the DCS practice. Ronnie has over 16 years experience in the IT industry. He has a solid combination of strong technical skills coupled with a financial background. His specific skills lie in the areas of data centres, management, business-focused technology, strategic initiatives, and application development methodologies. Before joining Dimension Data, Ronnie had a long career with Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), both in Australia and also in Asia, joining the company in Australia in 1993. His final role at CSFB was as Chief Information Officer for Australia. Ronnie is a Director and board member of SNIA (the Storage Industry Networking Association), appointed to the industry body in June 2007. He is responsible for the Education portfolio within SNIA, working on bringing SNIA-based education courses on storage networking solutions to the Australian market.

Chris Bowden SE Product Manager, APJ Chris Bowden is a Systems Engineering Product Manager for the Symantec Endpoint Management Group. Chris is responsible for ensuring that Symantec staff, partners and customers have a clear understanding of the different technologies that are available from the Endpoint Management Group, and how these products can be combined to deliver tangible business outcomes. Prior to joining Symantec via the Altiris acquisition in 2007, Chris was a Presales Engineer looking after Australia and New Zealand. During this time, he was involved in a number of large scale Altiris projects, including the APJ region’s largest Asset Management implementations. Chris has been working in the Systems Management area for over 12 years, and prior to joining Altiris, he was an Enterprise Presales Engineer for Compaq and Hewlett Packard. During his time at Compaq, he was a specialist in the Intel Server group, focusing on Deployment and Insight Manager. In addition to a number of industry based certifications, Chris has a MBA from Mt Eliza Business School and a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University in Western Australia.

Sean Derrington Director, Storage Management, Symantec Corporation Sean Derrington is responsible for Symantec’s storage management products in the Data Center Management Group. His responsibilities include Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Storage Foundation for Databases, Storage Foundation Management Server, Veritas Cluster File System, Veritas Volume Replicator, and CommandCentral Storage for Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms. Sean joined Symantec with the Veritas acquisition. Prior to joining Veritas, Sean was Senior Program Director of META Group's Server Infrastructure Strategies. During his 8 years at META Group, he was the lead consultant and analyst covering the storage and storage management market. Sean earned a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Engineering and Public Policy, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Alexandra Drury Senior Security Specialist, Symantec Australia Alex Drury is responsible for building the Governance, Risk , Compliance and Security Operations solutions business across the Northern Region of Australia. In this role, she focuses on assisting clients in managing internal and external audit requirements, meeting regulatory and best practice framework compliance, as well as automating security operations including log & incident management. With over a decade of IT Industry experience, Alex brings an accomplished sales and marketing background to this strategic area of growth within Symantec. Alex has been with Symantec for five years – most recently based out of San Francisco building momentum in our global services business. Prior to that, she worked as an Account Director & Channel Manager with Symantec Australia, and previously held positions in Channel Strategy, Product Management and Marketing for Symantec Asia Pacific & Japan.

David Dzienciol Senior Director, Enterprise Sales & Partners, Pacific Region, Symantec Australia David Dzienciol is Senior Director, Enterprise Sales and Partners for Symantec Australia. In this role, David is responsible for driving sales and operations in the enterprise and partner business across Australia and New Zealand and serves as one of the senior leaders for the overall Symantec business in this region. David plays a key role in determining the business strategy for Symantec in the Pacific region and has successfully launched the new go-to-market model for Symantec in Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, David served as Director, Partner Sales, Australia and New Zealand and was responsible for leading the local partner business and developing Symantec’s local channel strategy for more than 3,000 partners and resellers. Prior to heading the local partner business, David was Director, Strategic Accounts, Australia and New Zealand and was responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction for many of Australia and New Zealand’s largest financial services and telecommunications businesses. In this role, David achieved tremendous business growth for Symantec and was instrumental in establishing Symantec as a leading provider of security and storage solutions locally. Prior to the Symantec-VERITAS software merger, David held a number of sales and channel management positions within VERITAS. Having spent approximately 10 years with the company, he has helped grow the local business from three employees to more than 650 employees today. Prior to joining VERITAS, David spent several years in the United States working in the enterprise storage and networking market.

Mark Evans Director, Enterprise Technical Support, Asia Pacific & Japan, Symantec Corporation Mark Evans is the director of Enterprise Technical Support for Symantec Asia Pacific. In this role he is responsible for the Sydney based team which delivers technical support services to Symantec's global enterprise customer base. Mark has more than 10 years experience in the fields of support and services. He has managed and developed support systems in the Pacific region, facilitating Symantec's 'follow the sun' model which provides Symantec's customers with 24x7x365 support. Mark joined Symantec through the company's merger with Veritas Software in July 2005. During his eight year career at Veritas, Mark served most recently as the senior manager of Enterprise Support Server Storage Management Group for the Pacific region. Prior to that, he operated in roles of Operations Manager and European Field Engineer/Technical Services Engineer Australia. Mark holds a SSPA (Service and Support Professional Association) Customer Support Manager accreditation.

Bob Goodyear Technical Product Manager, Storage Group, Symantec Corporation Bob Goodyear is a Technical Product Manager for Symantec. He has been with Symantec for over six years, and currently works with the Veritas Storage Foundation products, specifically in HP-UX environments. Bob has represented Symantec on a worldwide basis speaking about Storage Foundation. Prior to joining Symantec through the Veritas merger, he worked for Hewlett Packard for six years in their HP-UX and storage hardware divisions. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Brigham Young University and is a member of the U.S. National Speakers Association.

Mark Gorrie Business Development Manager, Consumer Division, Symantec Corporation Mark Gorrie is a Business Development Manager for the Consumer division in the Pacific region for Symantec. His responsibilities cover Symantec’s non-traditional, non-retail channels and can include banks, telcos, and ISP’s. Mark’s previous position was managing Symantec’s consumer distribution partners for the Pacific region – a position he held for approximately two years. Prior to that Mark was the Financial Controller for Symantec Australia, and he is a registered CPA.

Peter Graham Principal Consultant, Business Advisory Services, Symantec Corporation Peter Graham has spent over twenty five years developing a successful career in professional services and consulting services in the IT Security, Risk Management, Business Continuity, IT Governance, Disaster Recovery and IT audit areas. Preceding this in-depth experience, Peter spent many years in areas of IT Operations Management, Voice and Data communications. Peter joined Symantec from a position as Principal Consultant for a major Australian systems integration company after working as an Independent Consultant and as a Manager / Practice Leader in Business Continuity Management practice of KPMG. His experience has been developed across multiple industry sectors including: Manufacturing, Public Utilities, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Legal and Government, Directory Publications, IT Services and Telecommunications. He has completed several international assignments and secondments including a global B2B project implementing IT recovery strategies and infrastructure requirements. Peter has successfully led Risk Management and Business Continuity projects across a range of industries using his experience and skills to deliver quality outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.

Pat Hanavan Vice President, Product Management, Data Protection Group, Symantec Corporation Pat Hanavan has nearly 30 years of experience in the computer industry, and has been with Symantec for the majority of that time. Over the course of his career at Symantec, Hanavan has held roles in Engineering from lead developer, development manager, business unit director and technical director, and now leads the product management team for Symantec Backup Exec. Hanavan is the Vice President of Product Management of the company’s Data Protection Group. His team is responsible for overall product direction, strategies and business performance for the Symantec Backup Exec family of products which include Backup Exec for Windows Servers, Backup Exec System Recovery, Backup Exec for NetWare and Replication Exec. The Backup Exec products are industry leaders and they are regularly awarded by users and publications for their innovations, ease of use and performance.

Paul Harapin Vice President, VMware Australia and New Zealand Paul Harapin is the Vice President of VMware Australia & New Zealand, and has built the company in this region from a start-up company to a fast-growing organisation that now has offices in all major capital cities. Paul brings to the role vast experience in the building and management of multi-million dollar IT corporations, spanning 19 years across Asia and the USA. He is a member of the Singapore-Australia Business Council, Australian-American Chamber of Commerce and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Paul is also a member of the Australia Cambodia Foundation, a not-for-profit group assisting Australian-supported orphanages in Cambodia.

Paul Kastner Director - Industry Solutions, Asia Pacific & Japan, Symantec Corporation Paul Kastner is responsible for initiating and driving Symantec’s industry vertical strategies, business development, and sales execution across Asia Pacific and Japan. Paul has more than 25 years experience in IT implementation and management. Throughout his career, he has successfully delivered major business benefits by leading and enabling change in areas including customer management, products, distribution, operations, risk management, IT applications and infrastructure. Paul’s IT experience spans core applications, infrastructure, IT security and compliance, and overall IT management. He has also led significant business strategy, cost reduction, organisational change, and business process reengineering projects. Paul has worked extensively in Asia, Australia, the USA, and the Middle East. Paul joined Symantec from EMC where he was client solutions director in Australia and New Zealand. Previously he was Partner at PA Consulting Group where he headed the financial services consulting practice across APJ. Sean Kopelke Regional Manager, Data Loss Prevention Solutions, Asia Pacific & Japan, Symantec Corporation Sean is an experienced specialist, focusing on data loss prevention, information risk management, compliance, and electronic discovery solutions. Prior to joining Symantec, Sean’s experience included setting up the Information Risk Management business unit in Tokyo, Japan, for Veritas Software. Sean has also spent four years working in South East Asia and the Greater China Region with KVS, the market leading messaging archiving company prior to the KVS acquisition by Veritas. Now based in Melbourne Australia, Sean manages Symantec’s Data Loss Prevention Group across Asia Pacific and Japan. In this role Sean focuses on assisting both corporate and government customers implement best practice solutions to protect and secure their information.

Dan Lamorena Senior Manager – Product Marketing, Business Continuity Group, Symantec Corporation Dan Lamorena is a Senior Manager responsible for Symantec's High Availability and Disaster Recovery products. Prior to joining Symantec, Dan held product marketing, business development, and strategy management roles with Cisco Systems, Electronic Arts, Ernst and Young, and mobileID. Dan holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the Ohio State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley.

Angus MacDonald Chief Technology Officer, Sun Microsystems Australia and New Zealand As Sun Microsystems Australasia's Chief Technology Officer and leading technology evangelist, Angus McDonald is not afraid to make bold predictions, and proffers the good and the not-so-good, in his engaging discussions about the future of the IT industry. Graeme Moon Manager - Distribution and Partner Enablement, Pacific Region, Symantec Australia Graeme Moon is responsible for Symantec’s Pacific distribution team, plus the Partner Enablement, Competitive and SMB programs. Prior to this he was responsible for the National Partner team, the Tier-2 Partner team and created the original Partner Enablement program for Symantec’s Pacific region. Graeme has over 20 years IT industry experience with companies such as Microsoft, Channel Enablers and NCR.

Julie Parrish Vice President, Global Channel Office, Symantec Corporation As Vice President of the Global Channel Office, Julie Parrish is responsible for developing and executing Symantec’s global channel strategy. In this role, she also leads the worldwide partner organisation, delivering best-in-class enablement programs to support Symantec’s global partner ecosystem. Most recently, Julie led the channel team in the integration and deployment of the Symantec and VERITAS partner programs and the unified partner portal – PartnerNet – in 37 countries to 60,000 partners from over 20 different categories mapped into a simplified structure. Prior to her current role, she served as Symantec’s Vice President of Enterprise, Mid-market, and Channel Marketing, providing the strategic direction and ensuring solid execution of Symantec’s enterprise and mid-market marketing efforts. Julie has more than 22 years of experience in channel, corporate, and field marketing at Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Symantec, Julie was Vice President of Americas Field and Channel Marketing for VERITAS. In this role, she was responsible for defining channel strategy and delivering all aspects of the VERITAS Partner Program, including the development of recruiting, training, and marketing programs to support the channel. In addition, she was responsible for all field marketing efforts, including both regional and industry-focused programs. Prior to VERITAS, Julie was the Vice President of Global Marketing Communications for Nokia Internet Communications (NIC) – a division of Nokia Ventures. Before Nokia, Julie was responsible for US Field and Channel Marketing at 3Com Corporation, where she spent nearly a decade developing and implementing 3Com’s award-winning channel programs. At both 3Com and Nokia, Julie directed global, cross-division planning functions which streamlined budgeting, planning and implementation of marketing programs and saved more than $1M in quarterly marcom spending. Julie has also held marketing management positions at Unisys and Hewlett-Packard. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Information Science from the University of Santa Clara.

Robert Pregnell Senior Manager - Technical Product Management, Endpoint Security Group, Symantec Australia Robert Pregnell is the Senior Manager in charge of Technical Product Management in Asia Pacific for Symantec’s Endpoint Security and Compliance Solutions. Robert has more than 18 years of consulting, operations and architectural experience deploying endpoint security solutions to small, mid-size and enterprise-level organisations. Robert joined Symantec in 1995 after six years spent consulting and working with Symantec’s distribution partners, driving technical knowledge, security design, deployments and response infrastructure implementations.

Dan Sherwood Product Line Manager, Endpoint Management Group, Symantec Corporation Dan Sherwood has worked at Symantec for three years in the product management area of the Altiris product line, primarily with the Service and Asset Management products. Dan has over 20 years experience in the network and system management software industry working for Hewlett Packard, Motorola and FrontRange Solutions.

Steve Simpson Principal Security Consultant, Business Advisory Services, Symantec Corporation Steve Simpson is the Lead Principal Security Consultant for Symantec Australia and works in the Business Advisory Services department. Until Dec 2006 he was the manager of Symantec’s government security practice in the UK. Steve is an experienced security assessor, auditor and advisor, with extensive experience in selecting, documenting, implementing and reviewing security countermeasures through applied risk assessments and proven methodologies. His many qualifications include, PCI-QSA, CISSP, ISO27001 Lead Auditor and Prince2 practitioner.

Andrew Souter Director, Systems Engineers, Endpoint Management Group, Asia-Pacific & Japan, Symantec Corporation As Director of Systems Engineers for the Endpoint Management group in the APJ region, Andrew Souter is responsible for managing the SE team throughout the region as they provide technical knowledge and expertise during the Symantec sales cycle. Andrew has over 10 years experience in IT Systems management and has been with Altiris/Symantec for over 8 years holding various positions before moving into the SE organisation including Pre-Sales Support, Training and Technical Services. Andrew previously worked for Computing Edge as a Systems Engineer before their merger with Altiris in 2000. Andrew graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Business Computing from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Martin Ward Sr. Director, Product Marketing, Data Protection Group, Symantec Corporation Marty Ward serves as senior director of product marketing for the Data Protection Group at Symantec Corp. where he is responsible for the go-to-market strategy, planning and marketing efforts for the Veritas NetBackup and Symantec Backup Exec product lines. These market-leading data protection products ensure successful backup and recovery of information and systems for organizations ranging from small business to large enterprise. Marty has more than 20 years of software industry experience in marketing, product management, engineering, sales and customer support. Prior to joining Symantec, Marty was vice president of marketing and products at Asempra Technologies, building a pre-product start-up into a revenue-generating company with enterprise customers. Prior to that, Marty was director of product marketing at Veritas Software, where he built and managed the team responsible for marketing all of the storage, server and application performance management products. Before joining Veritas, Marty served in senior product management, product development and engineering roles at Sun Microsystems and IBM. Marty holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
