Enrique T. Salem
Chief Operating Officer
Enrique Salem serves as chief operating officer, with responsibility for global product development, sales, marketing and IT.
Most recently, Salem served as group president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, and managed global sales and partner programs, marketing, communications and branding. Previously, Salem was group president, Consumer Business Unit, with responsibility for the overall consumer business worldwide. In this role, Salem was responsible for engineering, sales, alliances, marketing, public relations and customer care.
Prior to that, Salem was Symantec’s senior vice president of Security Products and Solutions, leading Symantec's security product group including both enterprise and consumer. Before that, he led the Network and Gateway Security Solutions group.
Before joining Symantec, Salem was president and CEO of Brightmail, the leading anti-spam software that was successfully acquired by Symantec in 2004. Before Brightmail, he served as senior vice president of products and technology at Oblix Inc., where he spearheaded corporate strategy and development by leading the company's engineering, product management, and technology groups. Before Oblix, he was vice president of technology and operations at Ask Jeeves Inc., where he was responsible for the engineering group and the company's entire IT operation. Prior to that, he led the security business unit at Symantec, helping to grow the unit's revenue from $200 million to $460 million over a three year period.
Earlier in his career, Salem was a vice president at Security Pacific Merchant Bank, where he led projects for the development of real-time trading systems.
Salem received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Dartmouth College. He was named 2007 Corporate Executive of the Year by Hispanic Net as well as 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young.

Mark Bregman
Chief Technology Officer
Mark Bregman is executive vice president and chief technology officer at Symantec, responsible for the Symantec Research Labs, Symantec Security Response and shared technologies, emerging technologies, architecture and standards, localization and secure coding, and developing the technology strategy for the company. Bregman guides Symantec’s investments in advanced research and is responsible for the company’s development centers in India and China.
Additionally, Bregman leads the field technical enablement team, which works closely with the technical sales team to ensure they are prepared to assist customers in managing the impact of changing and emerging technical requirements.
Bregman joined Symantec through the company’s merger with Veritas Software, where he served as chief technology officer, responsible for cross-product integration, advanced product development, merger and acquisition strategy, and the company’s engineering development centers in India and China.
Prior to joining Veritas, Bregman was CEO of Airmedia, a wireless Internet firm.
Previously, Bregman spent 16 years at IBM where he led the RS/6000 and Pervasive Computing divisions and held senior management positions in IBM Research and IBM Japan. He was also technical assistant to IBM CEO Lou Gerstner.
Bregman holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard College and a master’s degree and doctorate in physics from Columbia University. He is a member of the Visiting Committee to the Harvard University Libraries, a member of the American Physical Society, and a senior member of IEEE. He also serves on the Board of Directors of ShoreTel and the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium.

Craig Scroggie
Vice President, Pacific Region
Craig Scroggie is vice president of the Pacific region encompassing Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, responsible for driving Symantec’s sales and business development in the region. Craig serves as senior leader for the overall Symantec business in Pacific.
Previously the senior director of business development for Asia Pacific and Japan, Craig was responsible for leading enterprise business development for Symantec’s fastest growing region. He was also the sales director for Veritas Software Australia and New Zealand, responsible for sales, support, strategy, planning, renewals, and operations.
Previous roles include national sales manager at Computer Associates, national channels manager for EMC Corporation, sales and marketing manager of the telecommunication and technology group for Fujitsu, national sales manager of Yamaha’s computer and multimedia products division and the IT manager of Allans/Brashs retail chain in Australia.
Craig is a graduate and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a fellow of the Australian Sales & Marketing Institute and serves on their National Advisory Committee. He is also a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, and is a non-executive director and board member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA).
Craig is a graduate of the University of Southern Queensland and holds post graduate qualifications in Information Technology and Management.

Rob Willis
Area Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, Citrix Systems
Rob Willis is responsible for the strategic development and direction of Citrix Systems across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). He provides marketing and sales leadership throughout the region, including a focus on partner relationships and channel programs.
His responsibilities also include driving growth through new market opportunities, integrating new products into the region and ensuring the company’s development, especially at the enterprise level and in key vertical markets.
Rob joined Citrix in December 2005 as the Director of Enterprise Sales, in which he lead the region’s enterprise sales team and was responsible for driving business opportunities in ANZ across the corporate and government sectors.
Rob has more than twenty years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to joining Citrix, he was Senior Vice President Optical Services for IP Networks in San Francisco where he lead the sales and marketing team. He has also worked with Nortel Networks as Vice President of Advanced Packet Solutions responsible for driving growth in the America, Europe and Asia markets.

Ronnie Altit is General Manager for the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) line of business at Dimension Data, responsible for the financial and strategic direction of the DCS business including: driving new product and service offering development, fostering strong customer relationships, and liaising with Dimension Data's global practice to develop global standards for the DCS practice. Ronnie has over 16 years experience in the IT industry. He has a solid combination of strong technical skills coupled with a financial background. Steve Blair
Senior Regional Product Manager, Enterprise Vault, Asia Pacific Region, Symantec Corporation
Steve Blair was the founder of Product Management in KVS before acquisition by VERITAS in late 2004. His role has been pivotal in helping the Enterprise Vault team expand and grow the products over the past two years. Steve’s past responsibilities include product strategy, core functionality, storage, internationalization, and managed services strategy. Presently Steve is in charge of Regional Product Management for Asia Pacific and Japan and resides in Sydney Australia.
Prior to joining KVS, Steve was involved in technology assessment and advisement for a variety of UK- and EMEA-based venture capital firms. During this time, he advised investors and boards on product strategy, and how to best grow emerging technology firms from concept to reality. Previously, Steve was a Global Director in IT for Deutsche Bank for Enterprise System Management for the investment division of the bank. He occupied the role of Chief of Technology for City Reach International, a MoD-certified Managed Services provider across EMEA.
He has over 25 years of experience with IT and development activities. He has worked in Hardware and Software development, Systems Administration, Network Operations, and Enterprise Systems management. Steve has worked for companies such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Dell Computer, SynOptics Communications (now Nortel Networks), and Schlumberger.

Chris Bowden
SE Product Manager, APJ
Chris Bowden is a Systems Engineering Product Manager for the Symantec Endpoint Management Group. Chris is responsible for ensuring that Symantec staff, partners and customers have a clear understanding of the different technologies that are available from the Endpoint Management Group, and how these products can be combined to deliver tangible business outcomes.
Prior to joining Symantec via the Altiris acquisition in 2007, Chris was a Presales Engineer looking after Australia and New Zealand. During this time, he was involved in a number of large scale Altiris projects, including the APJ region’s largest Asset Management implementations.
Chris has been working in the Systems Management area for over 12 years, and prior to joining Altiris, he was an Enterprise Presales Engineer for Compaq and Hewlett Packard. During his time at Compaq, he was a specialist in the Intel Server group, focusing on Deployment and Insight Manager.
In addition to a number of industry based certifications, Chris has a MBA from Mt Eliza Business School and a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University in Western Australia.

Justin Boyd is the National Storage Product Manager for Dell Australia. Justin joined Dell ten years ago and is an industry veteran of 21 years. Initially in pre-sales consulting, Justin moved to lead Dell’s storage portfolio achieving 97% year-on-year growth and oversaw the introduction of over 100 products into the Dell storage portfolio.

Sean joined Symantec with the Veritas acquisition.
Prior to joining Veritas, Sean was Senior Program Director of META Group's Server Infrastructure Strategies. During his 8 years at META Group, he was the lead consultant and analyst covering the storage and storage management market. Sean earned a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Engineering and Public Policy, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Alex Drury is responsible for building the Governance, Risk , Compliance and Security Operations solutions business across the Northern Region of Australia. David Dzienciol
Senior Director, Enterprise Sales & Partners, Pacific Region, Symantec Australia
David Dzienciol is Senior Director, Enterprise Sales and Partners for Symantec Australia. In this role, David is responsible for driving sales and operations in the enterprise and partner business across Australia and New Zealand and serves as one of the senior leaders for the overall Symantec business in this region.
David plays a key role in determining the business strategy for Symantec in the Pacific region and has successfully launched the new go-to-market model for Symantec in Australia and New Zealand.
Most recently, David served as Director, Partner Sales, Australia and New Zealand and was responsible for leading the local partner business and developing Symantec’s local channel strategy for more than 3,000 partners and resellers.
Prior to heading the local partner business, David was Director, Strategic Accounts, Australia and New Zealand and was responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction for many of Australia and New Zealand’s largest financial services and telecommunications businesses. In this role, David achieved tremendous business growth for Symantec and was instrumental in establishing Symantec as a leading provider of security and storage solutions locally.
Prior to the Symantec-VERITAS software merger, David held a number of sales and channel management positions within VERITAS. Having spent approximately 10 years with the company, he has helped grow the local business from three employees to more than 650 employees today.
Prior to joining VERITAS, David spent several years in the United States working in the enterprise storage and networking market.

Mark Evans

Mark Evans is the director of Enterprise Technical Support for Symantec Asia Pacific. In this role he is responsible for the Sydney based team which delivers technical support services to Symantec's global enterprise customer base.
Mark has more than 10 years experience in the fields of support and services. He has managed and developed support systems in the Pacific region, facilitating Symantec's 'follow the sun' model which provides Symantec's customers with 24x7x365 support.
Mark joined Symantec through the company's merger with Veritas Software in July 2005. During his eight year career at Veritas, Mark served most recently as the senior manager of Enterprise Support Server Storage Management Group for the Pacific region. Prior to that, he operated in roles of Operations Manager and European Field Engineer/Technical Services Engineer Australia.
Mark holds a SSPA (Service and Support Professional Association) Customer Support Manager accreditation.

Pat Hanavan

Pat Hanavan has nearly 30 years of experience in the computer industry, and has been with Symantec for the majority of that time. Over the course of his career at Symantec, Hanavan has held roles in Engineering from lead developer, development manager, business unit director and technical director, and now leads the product management team for Symantec Backup Exec.
Hanavan is the Vice President of Product Management of the company’s Data Protection Group. His team is responsible for overall product direction, strategies and business performance for the Symantec Backup Exec family of products which include Backup Exec for Windows Servers, Backup Exec System Recovery, Backup Exec for NetWare and Replication Exec. The Backup Exec products are industry leaders and they are regularly awarded by users and publications for their innovations, ease of use and performance.

Tim Harlow
Executive Manager, BT Infrastructure Hosting, Suncorp - Metway Limited
As Executive Manager of BT Infrastructure Hosting for Suncorp, Tim Harlow is responsible for the ‘Business Technology’ group’s server platforms, including their operation and services.
Tim oversees both physical and virtual platforms for Wintel, Midrange (Unix, Linux, AS/400 and Tandem), Mainframe & Storage, as well as Databases & Middleware.
As a member of the BT infrastructure executive, he aids in guiding the group’s infrastructure standards and technology architecture and is the business owner for the data centre components of the Suncorp/Promina BT integration program.
Tim joined Suncorp in 2004 and has over 21 years of IT experience across a variety of industries.
Prior to joining Suncorp, he was Manager of an architecture and design group for LloydsTSB in the U.K. Over his career he has worked in a number of industry sectors for companies including Unisys, Cable and Wireless, One-Tel Europe, as well a number of smaller Vertical market software houses and IT facilities management vendors.
During this time Tim has held both technical roles in hardware, operating system, application and RDBMS disciplines, as well as management roles encompassing both architectural & operational focus as well project delivery.
Mr Harlow holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Management and is completing his Masters degree in Business Administration.

Stephen Hemsworth
National Server Product Manager, Dell
Stephen Hemsworth is the National Server Product Manager for Dell Australia and New Zealand. In this role Stephen is responsible for Dell’s complete server portfolio.
Stephen joined Dell Australia ten years ago initially in a sales role, then specialising as an enterprise sales consultant. Stephen then moved to take a management position leading a team of Enterprise sales specialists focused on delivering Dell’s server and storage solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
More recently Stephen oversaw a complete refresh of Dell’s server range including the highly successful launch of industry-leading Blade systems and virtualisation-optimised servers.

Kenton Hoover
Senior Manager, Solutions, Global Services Symantec
As senior manager for solutions in Global Services Product Management, Kenton Hoover is responsible for Symantec’s Services Solutions, Programs and Architectures. He leads the development of new integrated technology solutions for Security, Compliance, and Information Management. Kenton has worked in the security discipline for 13 years out of his total 24 years of information technology experience. Joining Symantec from the @stake acquisition in 2004, Kenton was formerly Technical Manager in the San Francisco, California office, where he was responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring the consultants in his region.
Kenton has provided consultation in operational and technical security for a variety of organizations such in utilities, telecommunications, manufacturing, health, financial services, as well as ISPs and ASPs. His past work with Symantec includes incident response, business restoration after security incidents, policy development, infrastructure analysis, and security audits. He also spent more than ten months as the acting Chief Information Security Officer for a group of four airports.
Kenton also has extensive experience in the payment card area. In prior employment, he architected a “lockbox” system for credit card information storage to protect against both external and internal compromise that allowed third-party billing transactions to be facilitated in a safe and secure manner. At Symantec, he has been a leader in Symantec’s approach to payment card security audits. He has also performed technical instruction for Fortune 500 companies in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance and ITIL.
Kenton has also worked for Cisco Systems and Sony Playstation. Additionally he has served as a technology advisor for the San Francisco Office of Emergency Services and Homeland Security, as well as the San Francisco Police and Fire Departments, and has a commendation from the San Francisco Police Department. In addition to his regular work, Kenton served as a technical advisor for Los Angeles World Airports LAX Security System project, is on the architecture review board for a large telecommunications network operator, and spent eleven years in executive, board and advisory positions for a San Francisco-based non-profit educational organization.

Paul has more than 25 years experience in IT implementation and management. Paul’s IT experience spans core applications, infrastructure, IT security and compliance, and overall IT management. He has also led significant business strategy, cost reduction, organisational change, and business process reengineering projects. Paul has worked extensively in Asia, Australia, the USA, and the Middle East.
Paul joined Symantec from EMC where he was client solutions director in Australia and New Zealand. Previously he was Partner at PA Consulting Group where he headed the financial services consulting practice across APJ. Paul has also been Director of Financial Services for Ernst & Young, CIO for Saudi Cairo Bank, and Senior Manager for Price Waterhouse.

Angus MacDonald

As Sun Microsystems Australasia's Chief Technology Officer and leading technology evangelist, Angus McDonald is not afraid to make bold predictions, and proffers the good and the not-so-good, in his engaging discussions about the future of the IT industry.
With more than 30 years of IT experience, Angus has ridden the many waves of the industry and is confident that some of the most exciting and turbulent times are yet to come. Sun, he believes, will be at the forefront of these changes and is geared to offer guidance to customers, partners and government bodies to ensure they capitalise on the changes to their advantage.

Pete Madden

Pete Madden is the Channel Operations Manager at Symantec Australia, focusing on the roll out of Benefit Programs and Enablement for Partners.
Pete began his career at Symantec five years ago as a support agent for antivirus customers. With his knowledge of the security issues faced by customers, Pete transitioned into sales, selling Security to end users together with supporting Channel Partners. In his current role Pete is the principle sales trainer and product evangelist for channel partners.
Pete holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Technology, both from Macquarie University.

Alistair Mascarenhas
Service Delivery Team Leader, healthAlliance NZ
Alistair Mascarenhas has over 6 years of experience at healthAlliance, a shared services company that provides support to Manakau District Health Board & Waitemata District Health Board. Alastair's current role as the Service Delivery Team Leader is to analyse business needs, analyse the trends in incidents as well as areas requiring service improvement and make recommendations to the management team. He is also responsible for management of contracts with their infrastructure vendors.
The Information Services team at healthAlliance manages approximately 12000 users, 6000 desktops and 430 servers. One of his achievements at healthAlliance was “Project Fusion” which involved migrating 5200 desktops from Windows NT to Windows XP. Alistair managed the end user expectations as well as changing internal processes to accommodate the changing environment.
Alistair is ITIL certified and compiled documented work processes and procedures in compliance with ISO 9002 standards and ITIL framework.
Prior to his current role at healthAlliance Alistair worked as a team leader on the helpdesk, as well in the Desktop Services team and also for South Auckland Health.
Alistair holds a Bachelor of Arts ( Economics ) Degree.

John Martin
Consulting Systems Engineer, NetApp
John Martin is a Consulting Systems Engineer responsible for data protection and retention services across NetApp Australia and New Zealand. John has 20 years of experience in the IT industry and has spent the last decade specialising in Data Protection and Disaster Recovery.
Based in Sydney, John works closely with NetApp’s systems engineer partners and partner consultants from Symantec and CommVault. John joined NetApp in 2006 as a Systems Engineer and was promoted to Consulting Systems Engineer in January 2008.
Before joining NetApp, John was a Principal of GRID IT where he built relationships with major storage vendors EMC, Symantec and StorageTek while at the same time, helping to start two storage-related businesses. At GRID IT, he was involved in senior pre-sales, consulting and training for Legato, Veritas and StorageTek.

Graeme Moon

Graeme Moon is responsible for Symantec’s Pacific distribution team, plus the Partner Enablement, Competitive and SMB programs.

Julie Parrish
Vice President, Global Channel Office, Symantec Corporation
As Vice President of the Global Channel Office, Julie Parrish is responsible for developing and executing Symantec’s global channel strategy. In this role, she also leads the worldwide partner organisation, delivering best-in-class enablement programs to support Symantec’s global partner ecosystem. Most recently, Julie led the channel team in the integration and deployment of the Symantec and VERITAS partner programs and the unified partner portal – PartnerNet – in 37 countries to 60,000 partners from over 20 different categories mapped into a simplified structure.
Prior to her current role, she served as Symantec’s Vice President of Enterprise, Mid-market, and Channel Marketing, providing the strategic direction and ensuring solid execution of Symantec’s enterprise and mid-market marketing efforts.
Julie has more than 22 years of experience in channel, corporate, and field marketing at Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Symantec, Julie was Vice President of Americas Field and Channel Marketing for VERITAS. In this role, she was responsible for defining channel strategy and delivering all aspects of the VERITAS Partner Program, including the development of recruiting, training, and marketing programs to support the channel. In addition, she was responsible for all field marketing efforts, including both regional and industry-focused programs.
Prior to VERITAS, Julie was the Vice President of Global Marketing Communications for Nokia Internet Communications (NIC) – a division of Nokia Ventures. Before Nokia, Julie was responsible for US Field and Channel Marketing at 3Com Corporation, where she spent nearly a decade developing and implementing 3Com’s award-winning channel programs. At both 3Com and Nokia, Julie directed global, cross-division planning functions which streamlined budgeting, planning and implementation of marketing programs and saved more than $1M in quarterly marcom spending. Julie has also held marketing management positions at Unisys and Hewlett-Packard.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Information Science from the University of Santa Clara.

Robert joined Symantec in 1995 after six years spent consulting and working with Symantec’s distribution partners, driving technical knowledge, security design, deployments and response infrastructure implementations.

Nick Wade

Nick Wade is a Group Product Manager for Enterprise Vault™, with Symantec Corporation; a role which he progressed to within VERITAS Software Corporation during early 2005. He spends a great deal of his time interacting with customers and field sales forces of Symantec, understanding and defining customer needs, market directions, and product strategy around various components of the Enterprise Vault product line, inherited by Symantec in 2005 with the VERITAS acquisition. Prior to this role, Nick held various senior positions as both a Principal Systems Engineer and Technical Account Manager for Enterprise Vault at both VERITAS Software Corporation, and kVault Software. Additionally Nick has worked in various Senior Messaging System Architect and Project Manager roles in both the customer and vendor spaces for well over 8 years, and has been working with Microsoft Exchange Server® in particular since its inception and release in 1996. He has extensive infrastructure design and deployment experience with many enterprise messaging systems including various email systems, electronic faxing, instant messaging, secure document transfer, mobile systems and more. Nick has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Newcastle in Australia.

Before joining Veritas, Marty served in senior product management, product development and engineering roles at Sun Microsystems and IBM.
